ÁLEX MÁRQUEZ MOTIVATED FOR PORTIMAO RETURN4 November 2021 | Algarve GP PreviewÁlex Márquez will use his misfortune at Misano as motivation when the MotoGP class make their second stop-off of the season at Portimao. The LCR Honda CASTROL rider saw his hopes cruelly ended by a technical fault with his RC213v last time out, but feels there are still plenty of positives to take heading into the penultimate race weekend of 2021. The Spaniard had found good rhythm and pace at Misano and was closing in on the top 10 when he was forced to pull out around the halfway point. He retains good memories of Portimao having claimed his first top-10 (8th) in LCR colours at the venue back in April and is hoping for another strong showing this weekend.Álex Márquez“This will be the second GP at Portimao this year and it will be interesting to see how we’ve improved during the season; us, the bike, the package, everything. It will be a good reference for us and for Honda. At Misano we were very unlucky, I want to take the feeling I had there and be competitive again here in Portugal, but with better luck. I’m really motivated to do well in these last two races and finish the season positively. We have two races in two weeks, so we’ll need intensity. It’s a track I like, it’s very technical and you need to concentrate all the time, so I hope we put on a good show.” |
